Here you can view a group of eleven
photographic plates of the P.O.W. camp at Barth Germany. This is where my
father was a prisoner until the Russians liberated him. Some of the photos have
writing on them. To view a larger image so that you can read the writing click

These pictures where taken by a prisoner who worked
for Kodak prior to the war. He managed to take these photos, after the war had
ended he had the photos developed and offered this set to my father. I don't
know anything else about these images other than they depict the life at Stalag
Luft I.
My father was first sent to a hospital in Riems
where he was treated for wounds he received from the crash. When he was well
enough he was transfered to Dulag Luft, a transit camp for Allied Airmen. Not
long after all of the prisoners there where forced to march to Stalag Luft IV.
The officers and wounded enlisted men where sent to Stalag Luft I.
