The "BAR FLY"

This is the "BAR FLY" another B-24 J my father was a crew member on. Some times air crews would share aircraft when they either weren't yet assigned a plane or their plane was grounded. The " Bar Fly" was loaned to another crew and was lost along with that crew. Click on the picture to view a larger image.

I would like to thank "Art" for sending me this photo, I did not have any photos of my fathers aircrafts. Art sent me this photo and the images below of another of my fathers planes, and of the ground crew. Click on the picture to view a larger image. The full serial number is 42-100248 P and is listed as a B-24J-85 built by Consolidated, San Diego, California

This is a photograph of the "Robbins" ground crews who waited for the bombers to return. From left to right in this picture the ground crew are: C. Arthur Ferwerda, George Bianco and Francis Loring. Mr. Ferwerda's asst. Tom Halker is not in the picture because he was on a pass that day. Click on the picture to view a larger image.
