My
Father
This is my favorite photograph
of my father in his uniform. This picture hung at my parents house when I was
growing up. My father was born on April 6, 1924 in Toledo Ohio. He was shot
down five days before his 20th birthday, and spent it in a German occupied
hospital.
One of the reasons I enlisted in the Marine
Corps. was to become a flight crew member, like father like son. I had several
military specialties, one of which was a crew chief on CH 46 Helicopters. This
picture of my father had a lot to do with that goal. |
